The Beginning of Real Democracy

The Beginning of Real Democracy

Basically, Americans, like most of the rest of the world, have accepted a concept called democracy, but actually live in an illusion of democracy.

America has never had a democracy, because a 'representative' democracy is not a democracy. A democracy cannot exist as a pyramidal structure, and America has always existed as a pyramidal system of government.

Having elections, or voting on issues, do not make a system a democracy. The Constitution does not describe a democracy. In fact, it sets up a system where the rich choose the candidates and the vote simply rubberstamps the choice. From the election on, the government acts no differently than any other pyramidal structure.

In the Nuclear/Cybertechnology Age, it is time for humanity to set up a real democracy, where every human being can participate in all aspects of government by direct vote on the issues in a timely manner. The only structure above the village meeting level where all humans could participate is a geodesic structure.

By linking up all people as computer links between two small groups, and having all the groups networked in a geodesic pattern, humanity could, finally, learn to be self-governing and the efficiency of such a structure on all sizes of problems would eliminate the long delay between the popular recognition of a problem and it's solution, the norm in the present form of government.

The present system continuously simplifies problems to such a degree that the 'representative' and 'government officials' end up thinking in 'either/or' binary thought, but human problems are never that simple, and if all the alternatives were considered, often a multitude of approaches could be examined and a solution found that the present government would not even perceive... a solution everyone can agree with.

So, if we want a true democracy, rather than a rubberstamp semi-monarchy, and wish to really solve problems rather than simply taking away people's rights, then we should consider how to implement a computronic geodesic democracy. For more information I have posted the geodemocracy pages on this site, and you can get there either by rotating through the essays, or click here , or, if you perfer, you can go to the mirror site for the geodemocracy elsewhere.
