NOTE: This story is what we believed to be true from sources we considered, and still consider, very honest. Certainly, all involved believed that what was happening was real and vastly important to the whole human species.
Around Nov. 1997, an elist dedicated to creating a New Civilization on this planet, an elist which had existed for some years already, got amazing and exciting news.
A member had been approached by some people who had one of the largest personal family fortunes in the world. The fortune, estimated to be around one trillion dollars, was, however, blood money, made by their ancestors from the sales of weapons and supplies to both sides of many wars, including both WWI and WWII. It had been stolen from the family by a dictator, and was expected to be returned to them by international courts any day.
The family involved wanted to donate the entire fortune to the New Civilization Network, and in view of this incredable opportunity to do real good in the world, the group started working out what it was we could do, how it could be done right, and how it could be accomplished from the highest and most spiritual point of view.
Expecting access to a trillion dollars to work with opened our minds to the possibilities, for in our 'Old Civ', money buys cooperation and action. We set out to define what it was we wanted to do, what the planet needed to have done, to make the world work for everyone in an ecological way.
The following document resulted, and in my opinion, it is as important and historical a document as the American Constitution, the UN charter, or any other social/organization document in history. It points the way...
Despite the orders of the international courts, the government of the dictator which had stolen the fortune, although he had been deposed, would not release the fortune, and to this day, that government and a number of international banks are retaining that money, keeping it from the legal heirs as well as the NCN. Possession is, apparently even on the largest scales, nine points of the law.
The New Civilization Foundation never came into being, although it might someday. None of us have given up, and while I don't care what we name it, or how it happens, within the boundries of higher consciousness and nonviolence, I hope soon in the world these strategies and goals are reached for and accomplished by Humanity. It is required for our survival, and for this our generation was born.
This document is not specifically from me, although I had a hand in writing it and the privlege of getting to put it up on a website. I believe it belongs to the people of Earth and the ecoentity which we are 100% part of... Gaia.
