What is the Forerunner Movement? |
It's not about parenting, gun control, TV and movie violence, even drugs such as Prozac.
It's about being kind and gentle with each other.)

This site is not a site for an organization, but instead one focus for an emerging movement. In the sixties, due most likely to the technology of Television bringing the world into the living room for the first time in history, along with quite a number of other factors, a new movement came into being called the Hippie movement, which changed the face of the world unlike any previous movement, although the benefits are certainly debatable.
A movement arises spontaneously, not from any single source or voice, but from hundreds of thousands, even millions or hundreds of millions expressing the zeitgeist of the living generations. Those who become that movement do not come from any set environment or life conditions, backgrounds or attainments, for they are an expression, a yearning, of Life itself for changes needed among the people of the world.
Now, as the world grows more and more stressed by irrational irresponsible human behavior on a global scale, another movement is growing into visibility, still very fragmented, unformed, but becoming a response to that ecological and social stress. Seeking to fit a word to this movement, a word that might describe it clearly in it's effort and reason for existence, I came up with Forerunners, for it is, I believe, an attempt to guide humanity into a survivable path for all the future generations of human s on this planet.
Prehistorically, tribes migrated vast distances, and to follow the best path, certain members would go out ahead and find where the predators hung out, and where the best sources of food and water were, and the tribe would choose it's traveling path by the information those members, called Forerunners, brought back. The job was as important to the tribe as Chiefs, Elders, Shaman, Healers, Contraries, Storytellers, Musicmaker, or all the other recognized and practical social positions in most native tribes globally. In many tribes, after millions of years, of passing a particular task down through the generations, the individual would develop specific talents which assisted them. For Chiefs, it might be steady emotions and balanced thinking, for Musicmakers, a sense of rhythm, for Storytellers, a rich ability to speak eloquently... For Forerunners, it could be an imagination and proclivity to see things on a larger scale, to see patterns which gave extra weight to one path compared to another which seems equal on the face of it.
Since the tribes merged, and most of these positions have been submerged into modern classifications, each of us has a mix of these talents, most of which we have never expressed nor are valued by our culture. Some, a few, will have one or more of these talents very strongly, and feel all their lives a certain pull towards what they know not, a strong urge for something they cannot explain and which limits their happiness in strange ways.
Now, the talent of Forerunner is needed by humanity in a modern and intense way, to chart for the world's people, and that Ecoentity we are one with, the path to prosperous and free survival in a healthy world. This movement has to become more than any movement of any kind in history; religious, political, economic, whatever, yet not be anything like any of these old civ classifications.
It must transcend most of the old classifications which divided people up, like gender, religion, economics, politics, clans, militaries, all of those social divisions which in the old civ allowed people to be enslaved of mind and spirit into committing actions of hate and hateful non-actions of indifference.
It needs no leaders, no confrontations, no enforced uniformity of thought or dress or jargon, none of the battle and struggle of past movements. It needs interconnectedness, compassion, inclusiveness, diversity, and horizontal social value and organization, action with intention and information, trust with transparency, and the individual personal decision to step out of the culture which is destroying the world and create a new culture which is in harmony with the natural world and the highest expression of human nature.
This is the time of the ultimate Forerunner task, the most wondrous adventure of all!
